Prelude
OME time, you say, you値l sing a song with me;
And, if the day be fair, we値l take delight,
In carefree tune, as voices twain unite.
To lift glad themes in happy harmony.
Some time we値l sing a song---you致e promised me;
And if the day be dark, we値l
seek relief
From conflict,
disappointment, care and grief,
And solace find in soothing melody.
Today, you say, you値l sing a song with me---
Then strike a note my soul
has sought for long,
Beyond the blatant discord
of the throng!
A sweet tune, timed with heartbeats, softly we
Shall sing---duet of love,
the old, old song.
Oh, Singer! Will you
live
that song with me?
Peard Sutherland.
